The mission of The Pup Crawl is to help shelters and rescue groups care for the millions of pets who lose their homes every year. In 2009, we launched The Brooklyn Bridge Pup Crawl, an exciting nighttime walk across the iconic Brooklyn Bridge that raised funds for our six non-profit partner shelter and rescue programs in New York, California and Florida. Rescue groups across the country heard about The Pup Crawl and, to date, additional Pup Crawls have taken place in California, Arizona and Pennsylvania — raising tens of thousands of dollars for rescue animals.  The next Brooklyn Bridge Pup Crawl will take place on Saturday, October 22, 2011.

This year we are extending the fundraising power of The Pup Crawl to local animal groups across the country through the new Pup Crawl Lights-Up Leash™. The idea was to develop a new, fashionable and memorable illuminated dog leash that could serve as a serious fundraising vehicle for animal shelters and rescues.

The Pup Crawl teamed up with pet-product company Alto to create The Pup Crawl Lights-Up Leash, an extremely bright illuminated dog leash. When a local shelter or rescue group signs on as an affiliate, $3 from every leash sale generated by that organization goes directly to help pets under its care.

Any non-profit shelter or rescue group can get involved. If you know of such an organization, please ask them to head here.
